The situation becomes inadequate to cater to a population of more than one billion the majority of which reside in smaller towns.
Telemedicine is all set to eliminate this shortfall by connecting physicians and specialists nationwide.

Telemedicine means transferring of electronic data from one geographical location to another which means even from rural or a remote place to a major medical center. The mofusil areas are largely devoid of medical facilities and patients have to visit major medical centers at long distances for specialist's opinion. This involves delay in treatment, heavy expenditure and lot of inconvenience.

Telemedicine is a boon for a country like India as now expert Doctor's opinion is easily available even while a patient stays in a remote area. All the relevant data like X-ray, Scanning, Medical Notes, MRI, Sonography and angiographies, etc. are transferred from one location to another medical center. This transfer is most practical in India via simple telephone system as over 90% villages in India are connected with telephone facilities. This is a viable solution of communication made possible for the first time in India.

Telemedicine system includes Three Stages of data transfer
1	Transmitting center - Equipped with computer, modem and endoscopy camera which would be based at public hospital or small health clinics would send all electronic data including snapshots and live video images of patient to the receiving center.Live electrocardiogram could also be sent.
2	Receiving center - Where the main server is installed would process this information to the nearest available panel doctor or doctor of the patient's choice.
3	Panel doctor - Equipped with computer, modem and electronic pad would diagnose the patient on the basis of reports and prescribe suitable treatment to be passed on to the patient.

Managing Your Data
Standard Format..	Stores information in a computer industry standard database format that can easily be accessed.
Patient Information..	Stores patient information in the patient database. Nicely managed patient data.

Document information..	Store notes, comments, document source and more in the document database.

Send Documents easily over standard phone lines:

Select the patient you wish to send from the patient list, Simply call the remote computer, and click the < Send >. The system automatically makes sure that the documents go in the correct folder at the remote computer. If the remote does not have the same folder open or in existence, it will be opened or created as necessary. All the documents of a particular patient are sent to the receiving end as a single compressed document. so it takes minimum time to transfer data from one end to another.
This packed file is not executable file. Viruses generally affect executable files. One more advantage of compressed files is, it has lesser chances of being corrupted during transmission. Allow only authorized connection, checking password of both ends.

Receive Documents anytime:

The Unattended Mode allows the program to automatically answer incoming calls and save any received information so that you can review it later i.e. Automatically upload comment files, whenever the connection is establish for patient data transferring.

Send using your email system:

Send documents as an email attachment that can be read by program at the remote end.

Get a remote evaluation:

When the medical practitioner at the remote end has evaluated the documents associated with patient , he or she can simply add one or more comments. Then automatically comments downloaded at transmitting end, whenever the connection is establish for patient data transferring. Transmitting end can also downloaded only comment from remote end. All incoming comments data is registered before it can be used
