Gujarat has a population of over 13 million people. A large extend of damage has occurred in the area of Kutch and certain cities and towns of Gujarat as mentioned above. There was no communication available immediately after the disaster and Army, Telecom Department and other agencies had to work hard in order to establish links in absence of communication services. |
Disaster Management by a portable equipment can transfer all the information data as well as images of the affected areas so that emergency help can be made available early. This kind of communication net work could be termed as "Information Superhighway".
